If you intend to go travelling or you're moving
from a large house into a smaller one or you're renting for while
and can't get all your furniture in or you're even a business
and need safe and secure storage for important documents and files.
Whatever your requirements self storage is the option for you.
Self storage is when you package items, belongings,
documents or furniture you don't require at the moment or just
want to store away somewhere safely. There are many self storage
unit facilities around the UK offering not only self storage but
also home and international removals.
Some storage centres can be very flexible and
offer a service in which they collect and deliver your items from
storage saving you from visiting the centre to collect or drop
off your items. Some also can drop off your specified unit at
your house, let you fill it up with whatever you want then they
come and collect the unit once full, what more could you ask for.
Different self storage companies offer different
prices of course. If you intend to store items for over 12 months
then a lot of self storage companies offer discounts, so it's
always best to ask and find out what they can offer you. The larger
the container or unit you have of course the higher the price
will be, of course if you don't fill it to start with you may
fill it later with other items.
Of course you may be worried of security and
the safety of your items stored away in containers and units.
If this is the case then make sure you go for a recommended self
storage company or a company who has good feedback. The storage
containers or units should all be clean and dry so your items
don't become damp and dirty whilst in storage. Not only this,
but having security systems in place is important to keep your
items secure and safe. There are some companies who offer temperature
controlled containers which is great for those items that require
a certain temperature. Other systems which are an advantage are
CCTV systems and 24hr security as well as fire systems; just in
case a fire started the emergency services would be automatically
called immediately.
I would say a must in any self storage is that
the company have full liability insurance on your items whilst
in their care. So if something does happen there is insurance
to cover the replacement, repair or compensation for this.
Whatever your self storage needs, make sure
you get the right sized container for your items, have a safe
and secure container in which to store these items and also that
the whole self storage facility has 24hr security. If you're likely
to keep getting stuff in and out of your container it may be a
good idea to use a self storage facility in your area saving not
only money but time too.
If you live in the Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire
area you may work in London and all you want to do is relax when
you're home not running backwards and forwards to and from your
storage container. Remember the facility is to make your life
easier and store your unwanted, unneeded items.
